Purpose of Two-Tone Airsoft Guns
In the UK, it's illegal for someone under 18 or without a valid defence (such as a UKARA membership) to purchase a realistic-looking airsoft gun. Two-tone coloring makes the airsoft gun "unrealistic", allowing it to be sold to those without a defence.
What the Service Typically Includes:
-
Painting a section (or multiple sections) of the airsoft replica in a bright color.
-
Ensuring the paint is durable and doesn’t affect performance.
Who Needs It?
You need a two-tone gun if:
-
You're under 18
-
You don't have a valid defence under the Violent Crime Reduction Act (like UKARA, skirmish site membership, re-enactment group ID, etc.)
Important Notes:
-
Once you have a defence, you can legally buy full black or realistic-coloured RIFs.
-
A two-tone gun can be repainted back to a realistic color after purchase, but this must be done legally and responsibly.
-
Two-tone does not affect performance, only aesthetics.
